The Importance of Visiting High School Friends This past weekend, I was able to take a quick 45-minute drive up to Bloomington-Normal, where my best friend goes to school. Danica and I have been best friends since preschool, and we promised that college wouldnt change that. And guess what? It didnt! Not only was I able to spend time with my BFF, but I also got to spend time with her new friends, many of who I now consider my friends, too! Photo by Rachel Hernandez Today, I encourage all of you, high school seniors and college students alike, to travel to various universities and visit your childhood friends. Whether it is a road trip or a plane ride away, exploring other universities is not only a fun adventure for you and your bestie, but it gives you the chance to travel for cheap. After all, True friendship is when two friends can walk in opposite directions, yet remain side by side. Anonymous. Your high school friends have watched you grow into the young adult you are today, and they will stay by your side through thick and thin. They may even know you better than you know yourself. Their friendship is indispensable. All in all, it is important to make new friends wherever you may go. Opening up to new people (who may even be your bridesmaids or groomsmen someday) is wonderful, especially when you need the support as a college freshman. But remember that your true friends are the ones who have been with you all along.
